Replacement CV joints for 2.3L CGT

Does anyone know what other outer CV joint would fit the 2.3L Coupe GT?

My brother paid $230 to get both of his axles "remanufactured" a year
ago at Fred's Axlenet.  Well, the "remanufacture" didn't take, and
both outer joints are trashed.  The normal CGT CV joint does not fit,
I assume because the unit is beefier for the extra horsepower.  Will
the outer CV joint from any other 2.3L Audi work?
