Have you kids experimented with exhaust & turbo wraps? Seems I recall some
banter over the subject long ago, but I have no idea whether wrapping your
exhaust parts was deemed too dangerous, or a good idea. Which parts to
wrap/not wrap to avoid heat problems?
================
I had my turbo corvair exhaust wrapped as soon as I could get a kit, back
about 1967. It was reputedly worth about 15 hp in that application, and
yielded earlier spool-up. I had to replace the crossover pipe every coupla
years, due to conversion of the soft steel to something more brittle, but
that was trivial compared to working on Audi plumbing. A SS pipe would have
survived, I reckon.
