If the brake pressure accumulator is OK, (not lighting
up the brake light after a few hard taps at idle) you'll
have plenty of brake assist. If you really want to see
how much, just try changing the "bomb" without bleeding
it down first. If something similar happens again (yours
in the first case I've heard of like this) don't test
the brakes, you're just bleeding off pressure from the
accumlator that you might need further down the road.
