4K Strut Insert Replacement Help]

Thanks to all that offered experiences and suggestions with the strut
insert replacement job on my son's 4Ks. As all had said, the stub axles
just slid out. It was not necessary to remove tie rod ends, we just
left them connected and worked at the side of the car. Rented spring
compressor from AREA rental. $8.30 for a day! We needed it only for 2
hours. Worked like a charm and saved me having to make custom tools.
The pipe wrench did the trick for the strut cap removal. The whole job
took 4 hours with a lunch break and the trip to the rental place. What
a difference, too!

Purchased front strut inserts for my son's 4K FWD assuming the job to be
like the 5K but no, much bigger job. Anyone want to talk about it?
I've got the Bentley.
Questions:
-did you need the wheel puller to get the half shaft out of the hub?
-were you able to compress spring without spring compressor?
-how long for the job? (you not me)
-how many knuckles did it take?
TIA!
