Fan Woes

Fellow Auto Unionists,

I am perplexed by my radiator fan.  When I power up my car, the fan runs.
 When I turn over the ignition, the fan continues to run.  It never
stops!  I tried pulling the thermo senser, but that didn't work.  The fan
does go off when I pull the relay, but it's not at fault.  I replaced the
fan relay with a new one, with the same results. And, of course, the fan
stops when you pull its plug.  On the plus side, my car never comes close
to overheating.  But on the down side, I'm going to be looking at buying
a new radiator fan very soon!  Any ideas as to what's going on?
