Chris' crash/Corbeau seats.

Yes, Chris' seats worked well, but I'm not sure if you all heard the
comment that Merrill made afterward......"Those seats are now junk."
When we were putting the car on the trailer, the driver's seat almost
bent in half when my 140lb. son got into it to steer. Unfortunately, in
order to do any heavy competition again, Chris will have to replace the
seat. The problem with fiberglass or plastic seats (for lack of better
terms)....a hard hit like that destroys the integrety (sp) of the
safetyness of them. That is why most road racers and circle trackers
are using the one pice aluminum seats....they take the abuse over and
over. I realize you may think the Corbeau seat is comfortable....we
have often used our aluuminum race seat as a seat in the living room. I
slept in it one night! I think Chris would have been less sore if he
HAD an aluminum seat. Also, his belts should be replaced as well. The
recommendation on belts in a hard hit like that is also replacement
because the nylon ribbing stretches and weakens. Yes.....his cage held
up extrodinarily well. I was amazed. Belly pan seamed straight as
well......But the firewall looked cracked and weak.......might be able
to put a front clip from the firewall forward....hmmmmmmm.......

In the meantime, Mom is feeling better about my sons picking up their
Coupe GT from the rollcage guy .....they are setting one up for
ITB....who knows, maybe one of these years there will be two or three
Blethen's running up the great "HILL".
