Struts for an 854ksq

Just wondering what the best struts for the money would be.  I don't want
Monroes or crap like that but don't want to spend the money on Bilstiens or
konis.  What is the best value for performance shocks/struts?  How $ are the
Boge Turbo gas struts- roughly.  I was quoted $475 for KYB gas front strut
replacement including bearing plates and alignment.  Good price?  In the
dark on this one- any help would be very much appreciated.  One more thing-
what should the average gas mileage be for my car?  It seems really poor,
like 20-25 mpg or so.  Just curious.
