Air inflow, speed, engine speed & how to run the coolest?

Just curious, is there anyway to really determine how to make my V6 engine
run the coolest.  My old 88 90 seemed to run coolest at about 55mph.  I
really haven't figured it out on this V6 yet.  What is the right combination
of vehichle speed to let air in the engine bay in combination with engine
speed?  I've always been a little concerned with how hot Audis run,
especially here in Texas.  While I have never had it really close to
overheating, running cooler would be nicer.
