Cops, radios, license plate lights

When I can get my Delta radio to work, there's no AM reception.  I can 
only find the black antenna wire, should there be a white one?  I have 
windshield antenna and roof antennas, but the windshield has been 
replaced.  The local Dealer says the upgrade radio won't work in my car, 
will it?

I worked on my radio in the hotel parking lot, right in front of the 
lobby, for over an hour before being greeted by Detroit’s finest, sent 
to bust a pot-smoking radio thief.  At least they showed, although the 
younger one was determined to find my bong (I had been holding my 
flashlight in my teeth).

Clean my battery posts for better AM reception?  Change the license 
plate bulbs to fix my dash lights?  How gullible and desperate do you 
think I am?!!  Of course the battery was kind of dirty, and the bulbs 
were cheap.....
