V6 falling RPMS

Could be my imagination or a fluke thing, but ever since yesterday,
(coincedentally added another amplifier for the stereo), when I push in the
clutch from say 3,000 RPM, the engine doesn't quite recover as it used to
800 RPM.  It is falling as low as 400 or less even.  I know this can't quite
be right but what could be wrong?  Vacuum lines LOOK ok, and I really
couldn't find an ISV like previous 5cyl 90s.  So what should I persue?  BTW-
I ran it with the stereo off as well to make sure it wasn't pulling too much
power.
