Hey, it might even have been 170 mph ... kind of hard to tell from where I
was sitting. The car? A modified (*highly* modified!) Porsche 928 with a
bored-and-stroked 6.7L motor that put out over 600hp ... it was owned and
built by a local guy (now deceased, alas) who was one of the founders of
Devek Performance and I was able to talk him into giving me a ride one
afternoon. Needless to say, it was a ride I'll never forget, the wheel
weight bit notwithstanding... :^)
For the record, the fastest I've ever *driven* a car myself is approx. 135
mph, which I've done in many cars, some of which I even owned! :^)
