reword my question

It had been brought to my attention by many of the listers that many
different, and even better motors can be used in the 4000.  I have gotten
suggestions to put in a 2.0L, a VW 4 cly 8V, or a 1.8 or 2.0 GTi motor. 
So, I am going to reword my message.  Here goes, I am looking for any
motor that would fit into a Audi 4000 ('84) that runs good.  Also, i
would prefer the motor to be reasonably priced.  Any suggestions would be
great.  Thanks.
