I stripped the allen bolt on my strut cartridge when I replaced them a
week ago.  After throwing some tools across the floor, I decided I would
take the car down to discount tire which was just down the street from me.
They used an air impact wrench on it and looseened for me.  But when I got
home I still needed to put vice grips on the shaft to take the nut off
completely.  

If you need more help let me know since I finished off my bottle of
tylenol already and maybe I can help you out.
