"Enthusiasts" is the operative word. If you're looking for durable,
reliable, quiet, good-in-the-wet-and-snow daily drivers, then I would
heartily recommend MXV4 Energys. If you are, at heart, a racer or
enthusiast, and drive thusly, then there certainly are more appropriate
tires.
Starting with the old Michelin X in the mid-70s, I have driven about
750,000 miles on Xs and the various X iterations since then on a half
dozen Volvo wagons, including two fairly robust turbo sport wagons. The
so-so factory-installed Goodyears came off and MXV4s went on my '92
100CSQW before it left the dealer. The Contis on my new A4MQ Avant
aren't bad, but Michelins will be going on when it's time for a change.
