Power Door Locking On '88 100 Avant Quattro

Hello everybody,

the above Audi has a problem with the power door locking. I can't lock the
doors using the mechanismen. The unlocking of the doors does work.

It started out just on the passenger side, but now it does not work on the
driver side either. My mechanic told me, I need a whole new locking
mechanismen :-( (He also told me one time, I needed a new power window motor
because the window wasn't stopping on its way down. Not doing anything fixed
that problem (Gremlins) :-))

Any ideas/hints/help is greatly appreciated.
