Bypass valve on MC

I've just finished looking at the Bently diagram for how the bypass valve
is supposed to be connected on an MC engined car. I don't buy it!
It shows it connected via the idle stabalizer valve. This would mean
when you go off throttle, the extra boost would be pumped past the
throttle plate, into the intake manifold! I think this would cause the
RPM's to "float", or drop more slowly. Was there any different ECU
code on these cars which would do something different with the
idle stabalizer? (Don't recall if that is controlled by the ECU or not, just
occured to me). I've read how other people have taken the extra pressure
and routed it to the intake side of the turbo. Which is right? I'd
think you'd want normal off-throttle response, and to keep the turbo
spinning. I would think sending the pressure back to the intake side of
the throttle would achieve this (an slamming the metering plate back down
possibly). Thoughts?
