Wow, I was worried for a minute that something drastic happened! Oh
wait, something did :{
I'll assume that you checked big things, i.e. oil level, coolant level,
radiator fan operation, etc.
If you're standing at the front bumper looking at the engine, the
thermostat is mounted on the left cylinder bank near the top--close to
the timing belt.
Sorry for the sketchy details--tomorrow I'll be on campus and I can look
it up in The Book (maybe even have some details on the thermostat
operation).
