Re: My '93 100CS Quattro Blew UP!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, here are a few things you can check:

Thermostat: Look at the front of the engine block. Directly to the left
of the water pump is the thermostat. There appear to be 4 or 5 bolts
holding it on, but I'm not sure. AllData says you need to remove the
timing belt to get at it, but you can probably wiggle it out if you need
to. Keep in mind that if you take it out you'll lose about 1 gallon of
coolant.
Thermo-switch for temp gauge/overheat warning lamp: on the back of the
left side of the engine, it's mounted to the coolant hose that comes out
of the block.
Coolant temp. sensor: Follow the hose with the thermoswitch to the
right...a hose will branch off on the left-center part of the engine and
head under (or through?) it. Keep going to the right, and just before
the hose heads into the right side of the engine block there's the
coolant temp sensor (right next to the bleeder).

Good luck!
