Ok, my headlight switch is a stalk switch, no light in it.  It doesn't 
get warm on parking brakes (with 20watt halogen city lights), gets warm 
with 80watt low-beams on, gets hot (even through the steering column 
shroud) on 400watt high-beams.  Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions in 
ignorance.  It makes me nervous, so I'll go to relays as soon as I get 
an evening off to do it.
