Tap Chip & V8 5sp.

     JD,

Although I do not have a quantitative measure of the HP increase from
the TAP chip and K&R air filter upgrade, I can tell you my car feels
faster, off the line, and longer, smoother acceleration on the top
end. Took a ride up to Woodstock this weekend. The car purrs at 80 in
4th, and had plenty to go before I hit 5th gear.

I'll pull the receipts to tell you what it cost exactly, but I recall
the chip was roughly $250 and the filter around $100. (But don't quote
     me.)

Next repair - new stereo. The Bose is dying. Then I might do the front
     break conversion.

One last comment on Auto Firm. When rebuilding my top end Greg noticed
the new cam chains sent with the kit had a universal linkage that
would not have totally cleared the valve cover. The rubbing would have
resulted in shavings bouncing around the engine. So he found several
sets of the continuos link style at another service shop. It caused
another 3 to 4 days of delay, but necessary. That kind of expertise is
hard to beat - and like you said - worth the wait.
