Yes, you can. When I crashed my type 89 (all-galvanized) 80 last year, the
body panel guys (best body parts place in the country) gave me a choice of
either original (galvanized) or two brands of non-original stuff. I ended
up going for original, especially since the only non-original part I
ordered, the metal strip below the grill and headlights, turned out to be
about 3in too long. Now that's a pain...
The price difference between original and aftermarket body panels in
substantial- sometimes to the tune of 60-70%. The quality difference, in
fit and finish as well as in metal thickness, is incredible.
Don't go for aftermarket.
