WRONG! The 1.8T is THE most customizable of the A4's! For the 2.8 there is
only 2 options for more speed. A 17hp chip, or the elusive supercharger. But
for the 1.8T there is:

Stage 1 (around 180 - 190hp)
Neuspeed
TAP
AMS/ABT
WETT
Hoppen

Stage 2 (around 198 - 215hp)
TAP
AMS/ABT
WETT

Stage 3 (about 240 - 250hp)
TAP
AMS/ABT
Hoppen

etc, etc, etc, . . . . .

Also, the 1.8T is a lighter engine, so less weight, and as it is almost
$4000 cheaper than the 2.8, the money you save can go into the chip. And if
you opt not for the sport suspension, you can spend on the aftermarket ones,
and exhaust, etc, . . . .

So go for the 1.8T, just cause it don't have leather (which you could have
added as a dealer option, not factory) does NOT mean it is the "ECONO"
model.
