It is that way.  They even mention it in one way or another in the new 
brochure.  Also, leather is not even available on the 1.8T.

The sportier version?  Well kinda, in a "value priced" kinda way I 
suppose.  As far as performance, they seem to play up the power of the six 
more than the four.  The four's torque peak is at lower rpms too.
