1988 80 and othrs price info requested

Dear List Members,

I am looking for a newer car as my 1984 4000S getting close to crossing the
300K mark. I would like to request some help figuring out what the REAL
prices on Audis are nowadays. In particular, what should I expect to pay
for a 10 year old Audi 80 which has about 100K on it?  Also, on a bit more
general scale, is it possible to say what I should be able to get for under
$4K. I am not looking to get a quattro --- I prefer to get a "midrange"
Audi in better shape for the same $$$$$.  I am not familiar with the newer
(80 --- 90 --- 100 ) Audi models and could really use some  advice. BTW,
what are the differences between an 80 and a 90? I understand that the 100
replaced the 5000, and the 80 replaced the 4000. What is the  90 like?
