86 4kq spudder at around 3000 rpm

Greetings all,

A few months back there were some discussion about 4kqs spuddering at about
3000 rpm.  Well guess what, mines doing it now.  Looks like my car reads
the Q list.  Does anyone remember what the general consensus was regarding
this problem?  I recently did a tune up new plug, wire, cap, rotor.
Interestingly there is no O2 sensor on this car, previous owners must have
gotten rid of it when the exhaust was replaced. This might be my problem
right there.  I have had an Audi buck when the O2 needed replacing.
