UH OH! I smell expensive...



Q- listers,

I was just under the car contemplating removing my turbo to inspect the
exhaust side impeller to see if that may be the root of my high boost
problems. Then I saw it!  There is a crack in the bottom side of the exhaust
manifold. (83 TQC)

O.K. So this may be a way for a piece of foreign material to be injested by
the turbo (As Scott Mo. suggested).

My questions are this. What are my options? What are the advantages to a two
piece exhaust manifold? How much are they? Is anyone selling one?

Next question: I have the head from a 5ktq laying around...Is it possible to
swap these two heads and is there any benefits to doing so?

Any other comments or suggestions will be happily accepted (even sympathy).
