I wonder if the ComEd stuff (not the Chicago-area electricity company!)
was for the 87 model year. If memory serves, the 86 model year was the
CommEd for the CGT. It really doesn't make sense to have a CommEd in '86
and another one in '87. I thought it was to celebrate the 40th
anniversary of Audi's something-or-other... dunno.
At any rate, the CGT's from 86 were available in CommEd fashion. Check
out EJFluhr's _very_ informative page at:
http://www.igdc.com/ejfluhr/audi/Specs/86CommEd.html
for more information. Quickly:
they were available in two colors, alpine weiss and graphite metallic
(extra $$$). white alloys (14x6 ronals), graphite colored trim,
electronic LCD instrumentation, logo embroidered floor mats, rear spoiler
in body color, and that famous red leather.
check out eric's page -- it is a _must see_ for any serious CGT buyer.
And a question (as if anyone reads _this far_ :> ):
So, my 87 4kq has the floor mats, sunroof, color-keyed ronals, color-keyed
mirrors... but nothing special? I'll just have designate it the Audi
4000cs quattro SE and slap some gold badges on 'er! guffaw
