RE: sprongle, 10v vs. 20v
Yes, the car was FULLY homologated for Group A in the WRC (check out
http://www.fia.org for more info). I have a several hundred page catalog
for the Gr A. S2 parts they made, as well as an equal sized one for the
Group N cars. Don't forget that SMS built the V8Q's for the DTM, were the
original designers of the B3 CQ, the Quattro Spyder, and were closely
involved in many other projects with Audi Sport (including their rally
efforts). The S2 was a widely used Gr A and Gr N car in the early '90's
(Per Eklund drove one for a couple of years in the Swedish Rally). A case
in point is the S2 on my web page, located in Indonesia, which is a full Gr.
A car prepared to the latest FIA regulations. That car has competed in the
Rally Australia and the Rally Indonesia.
