87.5 Coupe
Hi Q-List,
I am looking for a coupe to purchase and I have a 87 4000S. One of the
reasons to purchase a coupe is to swap the engine, rear disc
brake...etc. Yes, I know... if I get a quattro I can get the MC... I
am still struggling with this decision. But I have already spend a lot
of energy and money to get my 4000S the way it is today, we don't get
that much snow... yadi, yadi, yadi...
My question are:
a. Can I trust the digital display to give me the accurate odometer
reading when I come across one?
b. Just behind the radiator in the coupe, there is another bracket what
seems to be a engine mount. This bracket is welded to the body. Do I
need to have this bracket welded to my 4000? I have read from previous
posts that engine swaping can be done but need to pay alot of attention
to details. But this bracket was
c. The reason to swap the engine is that the car feels underpower. I
live in a hilly area and having a 1.8L high compression engine, most of
the time I need to rev the engine high to keep up with the traffic. Is
2.3L high compression the better choice or 2.2L low compression the
better choice?
d. I have the Bently for my 4000S. It has some info on the coupe but I
didn't see a section for 2.3L engines. Is there another Bently specific
for a 87.5 coupe?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
