trunk lid electrics (safety conversion)

I mentioned this to the list a couple months back when I was installing my
CD changer in the 5k.

On type 44's, the trunk lock vacuum+electics and light electrics are fed
through the tubing that supports the trunk lid.

On the 5k, these wires are left unprotected, and the end of the tube is
rather sharp; I would recommend everyone inspect these wires for wear.

There is a solution; my 200q, which I checked for the same wear, has rubber
pieces that fit in the end of the tube, cover over the sharp edges, and
have a little "port" to the side that redirects the wires.

I imagine the rubber pieces are very inexpensive, an elegant solution, and
easily installed; well worth it in my view.
