The Cibie Euros in my ur-quattro have H4 outers, twin filament, and H1
inners. Low beam is 2 x 100w on the outers only - high beam is 2 x 170w
on the outers and 2 x 100w on the H1s - total 540w.
The H4 beams are pointed according to their effect when on low - so as
not to dazzle oncoming drivers. We swapped cars for logistical reasons
the other evening, and I had a chance to pass the ur-quattro coming the
other way with its lows on - no discomfort at all.
The H1s are aimed to fill the gaps left in the H4 high pattern - this
is not adustable because the position is determined by the low setting
and bulb filament geometry. It's not actually that good - separate
driving lights would be better.
The H1s serve, to a degree, as these driving lights. I just wish the
beams were a little tighter and the centres an inch or two higher.
