Non-Audi: Jeep advice?
Sorry for the non-audi question, but I am fast
exceeding my lease mileage on the A4. To "remedy"
this, I am buying a '90 Jeep Wrangler with only
27,000 miles on it. I will be using it mostly to
commute on the freeway about 40 miles a day.
Of course, the thing that worries me most is the
Jeep's tendency to roll. It comes with pathetic
205/70/15's on 15x7 rims and I am thinking of
increasing tire and perhaps wheel diameter and width.
I was thinking of 15 x8's with 225 or 235x70's. Do
you think this will flatten the handling and reduce
it's tendency to flip? Or will the larger sidewall
simply give it more flex and exacerbate the
situation? Or since it will be driven mostly on the
street, should I go for some sort of low profile
solution--like a 60 series tire?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Twain
