093 vs. 016 tranny -- differences?

Can anybody shed some light on what the difference is between the
5-speed 093 tranny that came in the Coupe GT's (such as my '85) and a
FWD 016 tranny?  Or if you know what car a FWD 016 would have come out
of, that's great too.

I was under the impression that the 016 was the quattro tranny out of
the 4kq/80q series, but I've been tipped off as to where I can find a
new FWD 016 for a pretty reasonable price.
