Good points.  I would do this if I were going to rol the fenders.

Yes, this is a tight spot with wide tires.  I thought of cutting the 
steering arm and rewelding it back on with a little bit more ackerman 
(that's to be distinguished from auckerman BTW :-) to get a little more 
clearance.

Looks great with those really big tires up front!  Pretty much cures the 
understeer too!
