FS: 15" rims: 4kq, 80/90, CQ
I posted this set of rims for sale a while back, but nobody seemed
interested. But there has been a lot of people posting requesting leads on
15" rims of late, so I'm posting them up for sale again.
Now I realize that many listers believe in the rim fairy, but I haven't
found that to be the norm. The usual options are:
pay for the new rims you want, figure $600 to $1000 in rims easy,
find a used set through an Audi parts yard. i.e. Autobahn, Shokan, etc.
(sorry to mention both in the same breath...) ~$450-700,
find a used set off the list, even moderate condition will bring ~$350-500
pay attention to classified and other car parts magazines, swap meets etc
and maybe find a set for less than $350
by a parts car that has the rims you want, sell off the parts you don't
need and try to break even. Requires desire to sit on unsold parts...
I have a set of 15x6 BBS RA's, ET 33, 4x108 bolt pattern of course. $150
These came with a car I purchased this spring. I have a set of Speedlines
that I'm running on this car, so the second set of 15's is not needed.
Now why is the price $150, because this car spent lots of time in and around
NYC, and one rim is less than straight. BBS RA's were originally gold, the
PO had them refinished in grey. Decent amount of brake dust, but that may
clean up though. Most wheel places will straighten a rim for <$100. So
~$250 gets you a set of rims, not immaculate, but usable. The industrious
could bead blast and refinish the rims and have a nice set for <$450,
assuming ~$200 for a respray or powder coat.
A decision call by all means. It all comes down to what you want and what
work you can do yourself, or have friends do. If you want pretty rims, buy
new ones. If you want 15's cheap, here's an option. I haven't thrown them
away because I don't have another set to replace them, and I can fix them
for less than a new set of rims.
Drop me a line if you're interested. If not, good luck on your various rim
searches.
