HELP - URQ - Dead, Alive, Dead, Alive, Currently Dead

Urgent advise required please.

After a 20 mile spirited drive yesterday evening URQ was left parked for
3hrs, On return it would not start, just gave a little pop & then dead.

I removed Plug No1 to check for spark, On turning over urq fired up let it
run a couple of mins, replaced the plug, started up & went home with no
probs.

Car started fine this morning, short journey to work, Parked up again for
2hrs guess what, That popping sound again & no start. Left the car 1hr tried
again still no start, removed all plugs, cleaned & replaced them still no
start.

Removed No1 plug again to check spark & bank engine jumped into life
straight away.

Again replaced plug & car has run OK for rest of the day.

Spoke to 2 mechanics & they reckon the coil, Ordered one for tomorrow.

Went out tonight left urq parked for 3hrs and again no start, Me thinks no
probs remove No1 plug (in the hissing rain) still no start, Left the car
30mins & still no start.

The Car is now outside Friends house & I've got his Wife's Car (what are
mates wives for)

Ideas Please
