I've luckily never had this problem on mine, but a
fellow (former now) V8Q owner had the same symptoms,
turned out to be the engine speed sensor was bad.
Pulled the codes several times and never got a fault
code on this defect. We blindly ordered the speed sensor
and the reference mark sensor, the dealer only had the
speed sensor in stock, we changed that and it
resolved the problem.
