86 5K cstq performance

I am rebuilding a 86 5Kcstq that I bought wrecked.  It does not seem to have
the performance that I expect from it.  I have drove 200 t 10V and 200TQ 20V
and expect performance similar or a little less than a 200 10V, not even
close.  The acceleration is ok and constant but, I guess the best
explanation is flat. I know that the full throttle switch is not
functioning( NO continuity violet and white wires at full throttle).  Would
this cause this type of problem.  Everything else seems to be perfect.
