Tour/Caravan to Historics

Since several people have mentioned it but nobody's come up with
specific suggestions, I figured I'd jump in here and propose a meeting
place to begin our tour to the Historics.

What: Audi Tour to the Monterey Historics
When: August 15th, Saturday
Time: 9:00 AM departure
From: Country Gourmet restaurant, corner of Mary & Fremont, 
      Sunnyvale, CA 94087

This gives us a great deal of flexibility in our route -- we can jump
onto the 85 a block away and take the direct route (85-101-152-1, which
I recommend), or we can take the indirect route (Sunnyvale-Saratoga
Road-9-1), or we can do something else -- I'm pretty familiar with the
great sports car roads of the Santa Cruz Mountains, but I'm less
familiar with those around Monterey.  

It's approximately 90 miles from that spot to the paddock at Laguna
Seca; the 9:00 AM departure will allow us time to get to the track
before 10:30 via the direct route, easing some of the traffic load
crawling up the hill to the parking areas and giving us some time to
prowl the paddock before racing starts in earnest, usually around 1.

(This also means if you want to grab a bite at the Country Gourmet --
the eggs Benedict are particularly good :-) -- you might want to get
there by 8:30 or before.  I'd like to leave as close to 9 AM as
possible, since the traffic at the track can be pretty thick.)

We might want to plan on an intermediate stop as well, in case people
from the Santa Cruz side of the hill want to join up without having to
haul themselves all the way to Sunnyvale, then all the way back down the
coast.  Any suggestions?  Maybe a trip over Mt. Madonna into
Watsonville???  I could be talked into that...
