Actually, you should figure out what sort of plastic he's trying to glue
together. ABS plastic, I recall, got few choices. I got a big can of
black goo at my local hardware store. I was told this is the only goo that
can affix ABS plastics (notably used on those ABS plumbing stuff). I
figured that one out when I was trying to fix a control arm joint in my
Tamiya RC car.

There are proper cement for each kinda plastic.
