You may be right.  I assumed since it would be a three speed he would
lust after a nice new 5 sp auto/tip jobbie.  As someone pointed out, his
stock tranny is mechanical vs. the electronic controls needed for
tiptronic anyway, so he'd *have* to switch transmissions.  Bet he
won't!  Great idea though.  I wouldn't mind having an auto mode for
heavy slow traffic...  I just wouldn't want to pay multiples of my car's
value for it. 
Of course I pay multiples of my car's value right now to change the
oil... ooof!
