Sounds like the compressor stopped running for a while. It takes a minute or
two for the air to warm, but the first thing you notice is the humidity.

I've seen a couple of service bullitens on the 90/100/A6 climate control 
documenting problems which can cause the compressor to shut down in high-
temp. situations. I think the main culprit was a bad relay or connection in
the fuse box under the hood (directly in front of the steering wheel).

You might want to mention that to the dealer...
