A4Q "B" pillar noise

Does anyone know how to correctly remove the interior plastic cover over
the shoulder belt adjuster on a 96 A4Q? I want to remedy the
intermittent tapping noise I hear while driving from inside the drivers
side "B" pillar. I have had the dealer try and fix this (3) times by
wrapping insulation around the loose internal component only to have it
return later. Time to have a look myself. I tried to gentley pull /
slide the upper plastic cover off but am afraid something is going to
break.

Any ideas?
