springs, strut cartridges, and control arm bushings

I just bought a fixer-upper 85' Audi 4000 Quattro. It seems that I get
to jump right into suspension mods' as my conrol arm bushings are
lacking in rubber. I want to make this car a tight handler so I figure
while I'm changing the bushings would be a good time to upgrade springs
and strut cartridges.
Before I make any purchases, I wanted to get some feedback about
combinations that fellow quattro owners are pleased with. So far the
most bang for my buck option would be Boge turbo-gas w/ Eibach Springs.
I don't mind compromising some comfort for performance, so with that in
mind if you folks could steer me in the right direction, I'd be
thankful. Also, would urethane control arm bushings add a significant
improvement in handling and/or longevity over the OEM rubber ones?
Thanks for your help.
