More on Audi 100S Transmission Problem in Wilmington, NC
Initial problem 1992 Audi 100S: The car would not go into any of the drive
positions even though the shifter was moved to
them and the "Sport" button was depressed as well to see if it would work
manually.
Brian Lewis at German Speedy Merchants (specializing in VW, Porsche,
Mercedes, and BMWs) at 910-791-4844 diagnosed that there is a problem with
the sensors. This model has the "Sport" button to allow "manual" shifting.
He has put the transmission in a mode to allow manual shifting in 1st and
3rd gears and of course reverse. His diagnostic computer for VWs won't work
on the Audi. So it's probably not the actual transmission, more like all the
electronic gadgetry that is suppose to make our driving experience better!
Has anyone on the list experienced this problem and have any ideas, if not
I'll probably take the car to the Leith dealership in
Cary, NC ;(
Thanks, Walker.
