My last vehicle was a Toyota 4X4 pickup, NOT jacked up.
On front I had driving lights on top of the bumper, that
came on with the high beams, and fog lights below the
bumper that could be turned on with the low beams.
No one ever seemed to have a problem with that setup
(unless they had left their high beams on).
Now for the fun part. On the rear of the truck were mounted
some round driving lights, hooked up to their own switch.
Officially, they were auxillary back up lights (have to be able
to see where you're backing when out in the woods you know),
unofficially it was to take care of idiot tail gaters who didn't
know how to dim their high beams. Now before I get flamed
for sitting in the left lane going slow, I know the old courtesy
of getting out of the way when someone flashes their high
beams, that's not what I'm referring to. I'm referring to the
idiots who go slow in the left lane, and then when you pass
them on the right and get back in front of them, they turn on
their high beams just to be a smart-ass. There are a few people
like that in Minnesota and Wisconsin that got a very big
surprise.
Oh, those rear lights also came in handy for hooking up
trailers in the dark. What can't see what you're doing? Here
let me shed some light on the subject.
Bye for now.
