Gerry-

When I picked up my mother's '91 100 from the body shop -not dealer -they
don't have their own (someone spunout in front of her and then fled the
scene), the radio read "safe." No problem, thought I. Didn't have radio code
on me so I called the dealer and they gave me the code. Tried it, didn't
work. Tried it again, didn't work. Called up dealer again and they found
radio had been replaced with 893-035-093B, gave me new code, but radio was
locked up "2 SAFE" on display, wouldn't even let me enter code. Took out
radio, let sit for 48 hrs, same story. Someone (wasn't there) at the
dealership told her they sometimes revert to normal after being left on for a
few days. I have a separate 120 AC to 12v DC transformer I could hook up,
since she doesn't need to have the car jump started. What I did: (This is in
regard to a Delta Radio, but should work for yours as well.) Hooked up the
12v transformer, turned on radio. Display still read "2 SAFE", but 3 hours
later, just "SAFE". Might take longer in your case. Tried to input code and
NO PROBLEM. I disconnected radio from transformer and installed in car and it
took code right from the start.
