"E" - economy. A slightly higher C content => slightly harder compound =>
slightly lower rolling resistance => slightly better gas mileage.
They came as OEM on my A4 in 205/55/16, were made in Germany and now live on the
200.
Before then the 200 had regular SP8000 in 205/55/16, made in Japan.
The regular SP8000 have a better grip, no doubt about that.
For the A4 I also bought the regular SP8000 in 225/50/16, made in Japan.
They stick like chewing gum to the sole of your shoe in a hot day.
