Well I'm not sure I'd like to try this myself, but anyway, silver solder
normally has a HIGHER melting point than 'regular' solder.  Try to find
solder with a high lead to tin ratio for the lowest melting point.  Also
get a tin of flux (plumbing dept at your hardware store) and apply before
& during the process.
