Another option in dealing with sliding floor mats is to get the floor post/ mat
snap assembly from some manufacturer, Audi, ford etc. The ford one has the
advantage of requiring the smallest hole being put in the mat, and is easily
snapped into place. The floor post is also easily screwed through the carpet only.
I learned this after a detail shop ripped the snap out of the SO's ford suv mat
and proceded to vaccume it into the great unknown. Audi" system seems to reqiure a
larger hole in the mat and uses a metal ring to recieve the post from the floor.
Bmw, has at least 2 different types, one that requires a large hole be put in the
mat, about as big as a US 50cent piece, and the "snap" doesn't stay in the mat
well. The other looks more like the ford system, but from the bad experience with
the former i'd personally avoid it.
